    Belleville washer thickness?

The Belleville spring washers (.50 OD / .255 ID) that go on the upper steering shaft are missing from the pieces I got with my unfinished kit. I found them on the McMaster-Carr website (thanks to edwardb for sending me there) but there are four thicknesses listed. The choices are:

    0.018
    0.022
    0.025
    0.038

Because this is a "spring washer", I assume the thickness (height) makes a difference. What's the correct thickness to use?

    Edward will hopefully chime in.

If I recall his discussion on this in the past, you can adjust the thickness to help take up slack/play in the column/shaft.

But I am not sure of the FFR original part thickness.

Based on my research and measuring a couple builds ago, FFR supplied Belleville spring washers are equivalent to McMaster #9712K62. https://www.mcmaster.com/9712k62. I used the next higher size #9712K63 (.038 vs .036 total thickness) and improved the fit of the collapsing column on that build. The most recent build (Gen 3 Coupe #59) use the provided washers from FFR and they worked perfectly.
