    Auto shifter linkage

Planning on a Lokar shifter on a 4R70W.
Doesn’t seem to be enough room between the fiberglass tunnel and the shift range sensor on the side of the trans and for the linkage.
    What have folks used ?

lokar makes a cable shift too the cable shift can be mounted with cable in line with shift arm and put shifyer where it fits good
they also make one to mount to floor, used one like that on a c4 and had to extend shift arm on shifter ,not good

    I used this. https://www.powertraincontrolsolutio...utton_Shifter/

No shift lever. Put the control box anywhere you want.

    I have the same setup.
4r70w and a lokar trans mount shifter.

I haven't mounted everything up yet.
I am going to try and rotate the range selector so that its positioned down with the connector towards the front.
I have seen a few that were mounted this way.
Should make for a little more room.

If that doesn't work I'll make a bump out in the tunnel for everything.

    Dan,
Sounds like I will be doing the same. Just not that much room☹️. The range selector concerns me. Flipping it upside down still gets you in the correct neutral location but how about the other gears? Does it only need reference for the neutral gear?
    Thanks

From what I understand as long as you can line up the marks on the range selector it should work.

    Dan,
I’ve seen that video as well and it gives me some hope that I can make it work.

I couldn't rotate the range selector down and still line up the mounting holes.
I had a 4r70w for another project that had the shift lever on the inside of the range selector.
Rotating the shift lever up required spacing the rs out 1/4 inch with some spacers.

That kept the shift rod close to the tranny, so close I had bend it some to clear the speed sensor.
I will have a slight bump out on the tranny tunnel to clear the rs.

    All part of the fun!

I have this exact set up. I’ll take pictures from under the truck. It took the Lokar shifter shaft extension (drop the pan and replace it ). I also had to notch out the floor a bit. Pictures this week. I promise.

The first photo shows where I had to nibble away some of the floor to clear the moving parts

The second photo shows where I had to put in a spacer bar to bridge the gap between the shift linkage and the shift selector. This all happened this summer so I’m reliving that problem solving adventure for this post.

The Lokar part number is ATA-1001

    Thanks for the pics!

Even though I used a stock shift lever that sits between the range selector and the tranny, I pretty much ended up with the same results as you, I had to "trim" some of the floor pan.

Im going to try and make a bump out in the tunnel for the range selector.
Should let me squeeze the tunnel together a bit to gain a little more room in the foot box.
We'll see how that goes ....
