My accelerator pedal is different from the one in the latest assembly manual. The assembly manual doesn't have this part:

I don't understand how to use this ball-post thingy.
Was there a revision to the manual?

Continued:
the manual says to cut off the barrel end of the cable. I think I need to cut off the ball end of the cable and insert this end in the ball-post then chinch it down with the set screw.
Does this sound right? Will it hold?
This way I don't need to drill a new hole for the accel pedal mount: it's already there.
So...before I cut the wrong end of the cable...
I can't see your picture
FFR MkII, 408W, Tremec TKO 500, 2015 IRS, DA QA1s, Forte front bar, APE hardtop.
From what I remember the accelerator cable has two ends, one is a barrel end and goes near the carburetor and it gets cut off to fit the carburetor attachment. The other end is a ball stud end and goes on the accelerator pedal. You have to feed the cut off end through the accelerator section up to the carburetor. Starts on page 241 of the manual, actually starts on page 134.

I used a Russ Thompson pedal, so I can't say for sure how the cable attach's to the FFR pedal.
As far as the throttle body end of the cable, yes, you cut the end off the cable, at the required length, and use the supplied throttle body attachment end. Fastened with the set screw correctly, you have more chance of the cable breaking, then the end pulling off.
Before doing any cable cutting, make sure that your throttle pedal can go from, at rest, to WOT, without straining the cable at the throttle body end.. It really helps to have two people setting this up. You may also require a pedal stop, to prevent over stressing the cable, when you slam the pedal to the floor.
