    Where do they go?

    Hi,

Assembling the front coilover shocks the manual says nothing about these plastic rims.
    Should they go somewhere?

I recently had the same question and my "logical" conclusion was to put them against the spring seat(opposite end from the cap). I am interested to see what the experts say....

That is correct. It shows that in the new MK4 manual.

    Thanks guys,

And as a foot note for all the newbies like me don’t forget what Mad Dog wrote in the wiki section of this forum:

« Run zip ties through the holes in the spring hat and around the spring to prevent the spring from becoming unseated. »
And,... « tighten the small set screw in the spring seat just until you feel it contact. The end of the set screw is plastic so that the threads are not destroyed. Not a lot of pressure is needed to prevent the seat from turning. »

I saw that in the new Build Manual, my kit didnt come with those and wasnt in my build manual in 2015. Does anyone know why they are now part of the Koni shocks?

    David,

Makes it a lot easier to adjust ride height. Allows the spring to turn easier on the perch.

    Thx,

    Henry

on my rear springs I had to compress with spring compressers and use real heavy zip ties to hold them and put the top cap on and then cut the ties and pulled out the cut tys thats on the truck book to move the bottom retainer to the top grove
