    PCV Valve question

Okay probably a dumb question but here goes.
A ball milled PCV Valve and breather set arrived in the mail today - woohoo.

However, in my mind, the PCV Valve works backwards. My assumption is that the part with the valve connects to manifold vacuum. Then in high vacuum situations the crackcase fumes are sucked out of the valve and into the intake. So the valve should work one way, from engine side and out the small tube. However, it only works if I blow into the small tube (flow into the engine, not out)... What am I missing?
    Thanks guys
    Steve

On the pipe that goes to the manifold you should be able to suck thru it but not blow thru it.

I got my 393W / 10.5:1 / solid roller cam / Holley 750 running perfectly with very little heartache.

Then I tried to implement PCV and couldn't find one that I could run with.

I ended up plumbing very similar valve cover breathers into the air filter through a marine type flame arrestor - works perfect.

I later ran across the tunable PCV valves discussed in the article linked below + thought I could probably make that work, but haven't tried that yet because I've got plenty of other stuff to do.

Used the ME Wagner Adjustable PVC. It is tunable based on the vacuum of your engine. I had a lot of trouble getting the stock vac systems to work. Oil was all over everything. I went to this and I love it. You can actually use a vacuum gauge to tune it.

X2 on the M/E Wagner valve. Any others your just guessing what’s right/wrong for your application.
