    Avcs

New to forum. Just ordered my kit, today.
Planned on buying 07 engine and trans? What are benefits or negatives with AVCS? Which model engine is best suited?
Don’t plan on using a donation car for engine/transmission?
Thanks in advance for all your imputes.

    Welcome to the party Ed.

My 04 fxt 2.5L engine has single (intake) AVCS. This increases Low to Midrange Torque. Here is my wheel dyno chart on a OEM tune.

Good luck with your build Ed - I found this link very helpful in understanding AVCS and designating what type of AVCS (single or dual) https://www.comeanddriveit.com/engin...avcs-explained
    The Pros:
    1) advancing the intake valve timing at low RPMs to increase torque and retarding intake valve timing at high RPMs to increase torque.
    The Cons:
    1) more complex engine management and tuning
    2) another item to troubleshoot or potentially fail

What ECU are you planning to run for engine management?
