    427 Windsor with Brodix heads

Has anyone installed a Windsor with the Brodix Track1xRR or the raised runner in the roadster. I was wondering if there were issue with engine to Hood clearance
    Thanks for your help

    Ernie,

    Look Before You Leap Please!

When you go to a race style tall port head you MAY end up NOT being able to run a standard intake so check the specs before you buy your heads...This was the conundrum I fell into with my Dart Iron Eagle (SBC) tall port heads which has forced me to run either a Weiand Team-G or Edelbrock Victor single plane intake specifically designed for the tall port head...In my case there are NO dual plane intake options, which I'm fine with, so please check the head specs before you order them.

Good Luck From The Dark Dart Side!

How much room did you end up with clearing the hood?
BTW, I have Kuntz and Company building the motor for me...Just trying to make sure it will fit

I'm one of the very few Chevy Guys so everything on my car is custom so everything fits rather well, even with no scoop.

If you are able to run a Standard Performer, or Stanard (Non-Air Gap) Performer RPM, or Torker-II intake then it will fit just fine with the right air cleaner.

My earlier concern was intake manifold choices options when you mentioned that you planned to run Tall Port / Race style heads.

The Brodix heads only have raised exhaust ports (1/2") so this will not affect hood clearance but will shift the headers up and alter exhaust cut-out location.

Using a 427 (tall deck windsor) reduces hood clearance (over a 302/short deck windsor) so will be close dependent on which intake manifold you choose, expect that using an edelbrock victor will not work.

I am sure there are many others (I used a short deck windsor) who have used the 427 and can provide feedback.
