After 10 Year The dash is finally in

I has been a long time, I have not posted much but today is big milestone as I have the dash and gauges in, boy this was not easy I am not sure how everyone does this but I think for just cutting around column I must have installed and removed 50 times, I am surprised the display still works after all the cuts around it.

    Few pictures.

Yes it is, just joined here notice there are some activity here also.

For most part is getting close, I have just decided to try to close it up and get it on the road while I may be able to drive it.

Was going to redo interior but decide may be later, I think for Dash was hard, well what isn't in GTM.

Noticed on your post, you have some serious wiring to do. should use my hardware hardy any wire longer than 3 feet, no such a craziness

    Thank Tino,

You know how these go, every timing you want to stray from typical GTM it will take for ever, but finally I just decided let's just close the first capture even if not prefect since it does not exits anyway. unfortunately could not stop time and just kept getting older and older so it was time.

But again cut around the steering housing was hell at least for me but looks ok and telescopic column also works well.

    Thanks,
    Mostafa.

I know exactly what you mean. Building a GTM is a full time job, and then every custom item we add to make it unique just pushes the timeline beyond acceptable.

That's what made me contract out some of the fiberglass work in order to make things happen sooner.

Are you running each of the ten modules over CANBUS (like OEMs)?

Did you use a BCM module as well, or did you program that into your main firmware ? (that is the approach I'm using)

CAN but, but my own protocol.

No BCM, these Modules are my BCM.

you have ISIS on your car right? I do not remember.

That's cool that you programmed all of the modules with your own protocol.

I did not use ISIS, my system controls everything but the headlamps and tail lights using two controllers. I'm working on TPMS and Traction control that will use a 3rd module eventually.

So you have a separate controller for:
    Front lights
    Rear lights
    TPMS
    HVAC
    Engine start
    Gauge Information
    Door/Hood/Hatch
    Custom BCM
    Accessory Control (Fans, etc.)
    Main CANBUS controller

    Is that close?

Yes and no, some are combined into one but all the function all done with these even my power steering speed control, these are IP67 rating enclosure also so very much ODM like device.
They also do fuel level, oil pressure, oil level, oil temp, coolant temp, RPM, speed, rear fan temperature control setting and more, one for local custom shops doing all of his electrical water pump, fans and AC controls with these.

I really can only say so much on the forum as how it is done and the level of capability of these devices. I am on my third evolution of this device and several revs of this version due to multiple functionality that these have, latest version doing the job well so far.

You have not seen my tail light but sort of one of a kind, I think you will like it, not easy to put video here( too large of files)

    Thanks,
    Mostafa

Wow, I can't imagine the cost and development time for ten processors!

If you have a video of your rear tail lights, I'd love to see those as well. You can upload to YouTube!

    Take care,
    Tino
