Thanks for the advise guys! Found the NT05's here at a decent price. (also found NT05r's) but they look more like a racing tire.
Time for a new shop. Even my BMW DD's come stock with staggered tires. Lots of guys are running Nitto's

Yeah, we know---that's why we told him to use 255/40 rather than 245/45.

Sorry, I was trying to suggest that maybe the OP misinterpreted what he heard from a tire shop when he requested a NT05 size that was not in production.
And that maybe Avalanche missed that particular aspect of the original request.
Not at all to imply that a tireshop not knowing what they're talking about is (at all) any further out of the realm of possible internet misunderstandings.
I dunno guys, 15s on these cars just down right do it for me. As for stick, my Avon CR6ZZ tires are all the business, as the Brits say.
They fill the wheel wells perfectly, have the right tread pattern and width (225 fronts and 245 rear), and just exude the right vintage vibe for my build.

I have a set of 17" Bullit wheels listed in the parts for sale section.
Do you recall who the wheel manufacturer was for these?? Are you aware of who offers them currently and if any forged wheels are out there for the Mk4. I like the Bulitt look.
thanks
Factory five has Halibrands in 17" and 18". I'm not a fan of anything else on a Cobra.
Funny you say that. I just ordered my kit today (this is also my first post just joined) . I plan on not using replica wheels. I want to do something a little different and see how it goes. Worse case I hate it and I waisted $500. Going to go 17x9 and 17x10.5 though
