    door lock alternatives

this looks interesting for a door lock alternative. i am thinking of mounting this on the body at the rear of the door and attaching a cable as an emergency unlock in the rear inner fender well. https://www.autoloc.com/catalog/Suic...-System-(Pair)

Looks like a reasonable alternative to door locks. You would likely have to fabricate an area for the rod to engage inside the door jamb area since the only "handy" areas are already taken up by the window and the door frame, but I see no reason you couldn't make it work. The whole thing would probably have to be mounted below the door frame so the rod ended up below the latch assy.

i was planning to mount the assembly in the rear inner fender well in front of the wheel so the only thing in the door would be a little bit of the rod when the pin is out.

That could work also. Not a ton of room to work with back there, but probably enough to get that done.
