What is the best way to patch drill holes in the powder coated frame?
After drilling all the holes for the original side engine bay full aluminum panels, FFR changed the panels to half panels presumably for better engine bay ventilation. Now that I have these panels, I would like to patch the holes in the frame that are no longer covered by the panel. After chamfering the hole, I tried black GE Silicone II. It works ok, but not great and I question the durability. I suppose I could fill with Bondo and then recoat with Rustoleum brush on or Rustoleum Epoxy Appliance Spray. That seems like a leap of faith. Has anyone had good results in this process? What did you use?
