What is the best way to patch drill holes in the powder coated frame?

After drilling all the holes for the original side engine bay full aluminum panels, FFR changed the panels to half panels presumably for better engine bay ventilation. Now that I have these panels, I would like to patch the holes in the frame that are no longer covered by the panel. After chamfering the hole, I tried black GE Silicone II. It works ok, but not great and I question the durability. I suppose I could fill with Bondo and then recoat with Rustoleum brush on or Rustoleum Epoxy Appliance Spray. That seems like a leap of faith. Has anyone had good results in this process? What did you use?

What about just filling them with rivets again? If you want it totally smooth then it's not an option, but it will definitely look better than filling with Silicone. I mean, the only thing that looks cooler than rivets, is more rivets, right?

You make a good point. It reminds me of the recent story about the Russian model who covered her Aventador Superveloce with Swarovski crystals.

    Insert joke here.

She's ahead of her time— those are "crystalline laminar flow boundary layer separation speed dimples". Since yours are internal, you can call them "venturi-style frame overpressure pop-off vents"

Fill them in with JB Weld, it will last just about forever. Then sand and repaint.

New here, and I know this has probably already been taken care of, but JB Weld also makes their product in a putty form that may work better than the liquid epoxy version. For rivet holes, you could use a very small ball of the putty, push it into the holes and would take less smoothing before paint.

    I like the rivet idea
If everything seems under control, you’re just not going fast enough....
