THe Hawk Coupe.... back to normal life... AUTOX weekend...

Kinda in between building these days... decided to start driving more and enjoying the cars.... got back to the local autox this Sunday... over 100 cars now... holy crap...

I was fortunate enough to asked to run with VETmotorsports... so it was a great day with some VETS as well... there were 11 of us there.

I was slow to start but started to get back into it again... really nervous I think about hurting the car or waiting for something to break...funny I will do over 135 in it... but 50 in a parking lot....pins and needles... anyway... here is a view from one of my slower first 3 runs... I managed to figure out how to get after it again after lunch and you can see the times started coming way down... I finally found the limit on the last run and looped it...I was on a FTD I swear

good times...I might have got the bug again... the car was perfect all day long. 7 runs...

Looks like you had a good time.My CAM-S group usually just has 2 FFRs. Once in a while we get a Corvette. That's a nice size group. I'm glad you're back at it. It is amazing how <70mph can be a 10/10ths all out adrenaline rush.

I can't remember who said it. But a famous driver once said, "If you want to know about speed, go into a 25mph turn at 30mph, and you'll learn all you need to know."

Wow, the coupe looks little parked in there with everything else. You don't often get perspective shots. It easy to forget that is it roadster sized plus a couple inches.

Fun stuff Erik! I had the first event of the season in my own car yesterday (had offers to co-drive other cars on a couple of really cold days earlier in the year). Here's what the first run into the hard RH sweeper on cold, used up tires gets ya'

We'll have fun at the track at LCS!
