A narrative history of my Factory Five Racing 818 S #172
I liked Factory Five Racing products, especially their engineering , and when I saw they were coming out with a new sports car, the 818, I was hooked; the price right, the performance and looks appealed to me. So on my birthday 2013, 1 put down a deposit to get a car. I was # 172 and waited 15 months to get my kit.

While I waited, I finally found a suitable donor, and purchased a 2006 WRX with 27,741 miles from a COPART, I then began the disassembly process keeping all the parts needed for the build. They were labeled and put aside for future use. To me it was like an adult Erector set.
While waiting for the kit, the parts were cleaned and refurbished. New and replacement Parts were purchased as needed.
All FFR builders are fortunate to have a comprehensive build manual, 500 pages long, as well as a very active build forum to help with any problems that may arise. The information and ideas from other builders is truly inspiring, and a great source of encouragement during my 2-1/2 year odyssey.
Sale price, $ 24,000.

The car is insured and street legal in VA. See enclosed pictures
I also have a 20 foot Diamond enclosed car trailer new in 2017 Custom built to my specs.
Will sell for $ 8,000. But not until the car is sold.
See Pictures attached.
The reason I am selling the car, is twofold, Firstly, my basic health issues. After my Heart bypass operation, I seem to have sadly lost interest in the car. My get up and go, got up and went. Secondly as time passes my right hand has been giving me more trouble with frequent hand, wrist and forearm pains.
The driving skills needed for a car of this power and weight, have been lost to time. I was rather good in my youth, but sadly, no longer. At 76, without the necessary seat time, I can never hope to recapture the ability of my youth.
