    Louvre Cutout Misalignment

Hey guys. Spent a couple of hours shaping the pre-cut holes for the louvers today. Very gratifying process and overall satisfied. Only issue is that I took off about 1/32” too much in the top right corner as seen in the photos. Once the car is complete no one would ever see it, but how would you guys remedy this?

    1. I could put on new aluminum flanges and redrill those holes to fit over the studs (which are fastened with HSRF), but that might introduce an entire new set of issues if its not perfect.

    2. Fabricate another piece of metal and bond to the corner to thicken it up.

    3. Simple black caulking? Hate to do that though.

    4. I would assume that this is a non-issue for Mr. Kleiner, so maybe I should just leave it alone until that time comes?

    Thanks.

I second the slot the holes to give you some adjustability approach. I, too wanted to shape and fit mine and did an okay job at it, but Jeff has a template that he uses to get them just right. His template gives a much larger radius on the corners and looks really nice. If you hadn't already worked on these, I'd have told you to leave it to Jeff if he's doing your paint & body. Jeff also asked me not to cut the hood for the scoop as he prefers to do that to ensure that it is centered AFTER he has everything on the body adjusted and fit. I happily obliged as I was dreading that task.

Thanks guys. I certainly won't be attempting the hood scoop. The louvers have some size imperfections on both sides. As I've seen Jeff say in another thread, just about everything can be fixed on fiberglass, so I'll leave them as is for now.
