    Thoughts on nGauge?

Been researching tuning options for my Coyote engine over the weekend and came across the nGauge and was really impressed with all the positive comments about it.

I hear Lund Racing is highly recommended for FFR tuning, but I don't like the fact that their nGauge seems to be locked to their tunes. The HP Tuners version seems to be more open to working with different shops or tuning it on your own if you get to that point.

Thoughts on Lund vs. HP Tuners? Thoughts on the nGauge in general? Any alternatives to the nGauge I should consider (I want one that I can mount like a gauge/digital dash)?

You can't actually tune with it. You can copy the stock tune, and load another tune. But you can't use the nGauge to make changes to the tune. An SCT X4 tuner will do the same thing.

If there are certain parameters you want to constantly monitor, that could be a cool way to do it. But you'll need to read the list carefully to see what you can monitor through the OBDII port. You'de be surprised what is not available.

Yeah I know I can't tune with it, but with the HP Tuners version you (or others) can use their VCM Suite software to create tunes and upload it via the nGauge. As far as I know the Lund version is locked to tunes that they create using their internal tools, so it won't accept a tune that came from anyone else but Lund.
