Help - Hard random stutter on quick acceleration in 1st or 2nd
Weird occurrence happened twice in the past few days.
Under load about 50% throttle the engine seemed to make a hard cutoff then continued on after I released the pedal & reapplied power.
Yesterday drove the car an hour to an event then almost home (within 3 miles of the house) the situation occurred.
Had just pulled off the interstate & without stopping but slowing to 2nd gear was accelerating to merge into local traffic when it happened.
First occurrence was earlier in the week on a local street acceleration from a stop on a lightly warmed engine 7 miles from a cold start.
No other occurrence of loss of performance before or after either occurrence.
Between the two occurrences changed the outside pump to a known good replacement unit & rotated all the relays. Have fresh Bosch relays on order. Fuel pressure shows 65PSI against a non running engine. Same pressure for both pumps.
Did not change the filter, it has about 5000 miles, & replaced the original at 5000 miles.
Not sure where to go next but think it could be the drive by wire throttle pedal but don't know how to test the theory.
No engine related issues prior to this happening.
Any thoughts on trouble shooting?
