new forged clutch pedal hits 1" x 1" tube before fully extending to the floor

I replaced the aluminum clutch pedal (bent) with the stronger forged one from factory five. However, now the clutch pedal is hitting one of the 1" x 1" tube before fully extending to the floor. I have a Mk 3.1, complete kit utilizing the Wilwood pedal box. I searched the online threads and some say they cut the fame and re welded, YIKES! Since my car is completed, welding is not and option. Has anyone solved this problem?

I had this same issue (as others) on my MK4. My understanding is that it has been resolved but that doesn't help your situation much. I ended up notching the pedal instead of the frame. Just took a grinder to the pedal arm and took out a "dish". Painted it over and re-installed. Problem solved. Pedal is still more than adequately strong.

I know others have notched the frame but I wasn't a big fan of that.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. Here's how I fixed it (as several others have done):

The tube is isolated in that spot. Captured at the top and front of the footbox so I notched the frame. See this link from my build thread for details:

I really liked boat737's pedal stop design (thanks for the link Johnk). So, last night I measured how far the pedal stopped from touching the firewall because it hits the frame tube. And, it was about 1".
I'm wondering if leavening it as is (frame tube stopping the pedal 1" from the firewall) is OK.

My opinion is as long as you can fully engage the clutch, the pedal doesn't need to travel to the wall. I would only make modifications if you can't get the clutch to work properly.
