    Single diagonal roll cage main hoop support bar?

    Trying to come up with something to give the main hoop some more support in the unlikely event that I find myself on the roof. What are the thoughts on a single diagonal that ties the main hoop into the main 1.5 square chassis rail? This would be basically the only way to get the main hoop tied to a bottom rail with my interior setup. It is definitely biased towards the driver, but I won't be doing anything too crazy if I have a passenger. Not looking for any certification either.

    It's going to be a bear trying to seal around that as far as the watefall (or whatever you're going to put there) is concerned. On the car we put the diagonal tube in, we went from where you are at the top down to the chassis tube right in front of the pass tank cover (you can see that tube in the photo you posted above). We did have to cut the tank cover in half and add a flange so we could get the 2 halves fished in there and then bolt them back together once in place.

    Thanks Shane, I figured someone had done something similar... Do you happen to have a pic? Are you talking about one of the longitudinal chassis tubes on the floor? I have already modified my waterfall so I think I could get this sealed up pretty well.

    This is the only photo I could find......tube passes behind the pass seat. Come to think of it, it does seem like we needed to slightly modify the waterfall so the tube wouldn't hit it, but nothing major.

    Tacked in, should work well with my modified waterfall. Will just need to notch the removable front portion for the diagonal bar.
