    Painting the Fenders

I think this has been addressed elsewhere but multiple searches and I can't find the answer.

It is my intention to drive the car in gel coat for a year prior to having it painted. In the meantime, I would like to install the fenders, but not drive around a black car with red fenders. I don't want to mess the fenders up for painting later on, but can I degrease and wash them, sand them lightly and spray them with some primer and black paint. If so what kind of primer and paint should I get? Would I be ok with the two eastwood products below?

To avoid compatibility problems down the road just hit them with Plastidip and peel it prior to beginning body prep.
