    Front Braided Brake Hose

Hi all. I have to replace my front braided brake hose and bought a 17” hose as I believe is usually provided by FFR. It is much smaller than my last one so just looking for some comfort that this looks right given we’re talking brakes. Attached photo is full turned to the right stop and the body is on jack stands with the suspension fully drooped. Is this how it’s supposed to look?

That doesn't look good to me. Is there any way to get a different angle coming off the caliper?

Not really unfortunately, the banjo bolt comes out perpendicular to the caliper. My last hose had a slight bend on the banjo fitting but this one doesn’t.

Perhaps a slightly longer hose then. You don't want that hose under any strain.

Try rotating the banjo end to see if you can get a more favorable angle. Also I wouldn't fully torque banjo down until you fully drop it down off jacks to ensure there's no interference with shocks or wheels since those copper crush washers are one time use

Yep I haven’t torqued it yet for that reason. What you see appears to be the best angle from my tests but my next step is to get it to ride height and see if there’s something I’m missing.

If the banjo end of the hose will flip, putting the bolt head side against the caliper, will that allow the hose to point in a better direction?

Another option would be to buy a pair of angled banjo to 3/8 fittings and then use 3/8, non-bajo brake lines.

Upon further research watching ffr videos it seems they provide 20” for the front. So I got a pair of 20’s and these look Much better. With tire on, suspension dropped and at ride height and lock to lock looks like no interference. Am I missing anything before I tighten everything back up?

Once you remount the tires, be certain that there is no tire to hose rub at ride height and lock to lock! Any rub will eventually cause a failure! (Ask me how I know! )

Thanks, I tried to simulate the same by putting on the tire, using my jack to push the tire up to ride height-ish and going lock to lock. Seems to look good.
