FFR 818 #297, Street Legal SCCA Autox Race Car + Wide Body + Twin Scroll Turbo setup

    Location: Connecticut
Asking Price: REDUCED TO $22,500 OBO
Pictures, video, and build specs below

Offered for sale is a unique, wide body Factory Five 818 that has been tested and proven as an autocross race car (multiple Fastest Time of Day awards at large SCCA events), but is also street registered and titled in Connecticut with a few thousand "daily driver" miles. The car is enjoyable to take on an evening cruise, and then go find its limits on the autox course. This is a well sorted, turn key, very fun 818 that turns heads everywhere it goes.

The car has a custom fiberglass wide body in the rear that fits 18x11 +25 wheels with 315 series rear tires (these are not bolt on fender flares – these were custom fiberglass molding work). There’s a little extra room – could possibly go up to 335s. Custom suspension work was also completed to fit this setup while keeping the car as narrow as possible. The body panel fit and finish is good but not perfect. It was built as a race car not a show car, but we still wanted it to look good.

The powertrain includes a fully built, long rod, destroked STI motor (2.34L) with a twin scroll turbo and custom fully divided up-pipe paired with fully custom exhaust work. Refer to full engine stats, below. It was mated to a 5 Speed Transmission for optimal gearing on the autocross course (will exceed 72MPH in 2nd gear) with a limited slip differential installed, meaning this car puts the power down EVERYWHERE. The motor was built with parts and precision to rev to 10,000 rpm and make 500hp, although you would need a dry sump system and additional cooling to hit those numbers.

The car was professionally speed density tuned by one of the best Subaru shops in the country, EFI Logics (Calvin Dotson) and makes 330WHP on a Mustang Dyno at a conservative 15PSI running on 93 pump gas. Rev limiter is set conservatively to just over 7k, although you could run up to 8k with the current oiling system safely. The tune is perfection, with amazing streetability as well. With the current setup the car makes lots of power, has sufficient cooling, and can be pushed hard on the autocross course with no heat problems. Lots of room to make more power if the new owner desires, but at just 1,800lbs and 330whp with a ton of tire stuffed under it, this car GOES like almost nothing you’ve ever experienced before.

While the windshield has been removed for 50lbs of weight savings, it will be included in the sale and can be easily reinstalled. Current windshields are Polaris Slingshot and set up to be easily removable for autox.

This is a turn key SCCA E-Modified autocross car with a lot of track time spent testing durability, reliability, and setup. The handling is fantastically tuned to the perfect balance. The car also has good street road manners with minimal tram lining from the custom bump steer kit.

Only selling because we have too many race cars, and are putting our focus into campaigning our RX8 in DSP Autocross and our Spec Miata in road racing.

    Supporting mods:

6 Gallon custom fuel cell located in the front nose (no risk of starvation)
Functional fuel gauge on dash (mostly accurate – reads empty when there’s 1/3 of a tank)
3lb Battery Tender lithium battery with quick disconnect

    Other items:
    ACT StreetLite Flywheel
South Bend Stage 2 Endurance Clutch
OBX LSD (upgraded washers/bolts). Works very well on the autox course.

15x10 and 18x11 race wheels with Hoosier A7's (included, depending on sale price)
15x8 and 18x9.5 street wheels with BFG Rivals
Prosport Gauges (boost, oil temp, oil pressure, pre and post intercooler air temp, intercooler water temp, wideband AFR) with alarms.
Custom shifter routed with cables going straight back for much improved shifting feel
OEM ECU and has OBD2 but likely would not pass in a state that requires an OBD2 test without some work
The blue coloring including the numbers is 3M wrap and can easily be removed if the new owner desires.
Lots of other items we are forgetting!

The car IS street legal and registered in Connecticut. CT requires one (very intense) visual inspection (no OBD2 test) and cars are then exempt from all future inspections. Since the inspection we have removed the windshield and wipers, and the catalytic converter (replaced with race muffler). The windshield and catalytic converter will be included in the sale.

Recent video with good sound quality (more videos, including FTD runs will be posted below)
