    Drilling door hinges question

So I drilled the hinges as instructed in the manual. Referencing the newest manual (Rev 1C, April 2019), page 303 says only one hole in each upper hinge needs to be tapped for short bolt without a nut.
But as I attempt to bolt the hinges to the frame mounts, appears to me that there is not enough room at the lower hinges to use the carriage bolt with a nut on the outer hole, as per page 332.
Have y'all seen that too. Or am I off?

    Thanks,
    Ron

    Yes
I ran into issues as well there. What I did was cut the carriage bolt down and got a new half but to make it work.

I ended up threading the outer hole with a 3/8 tap and used a short bolt.
