Neutral safety switch wiring help needed.
I am working with an AOD auto tranny, standard FFR wiring harness, and a Lokar shifter. The shifter has the neutral switch on the bracket at the bottom of the shift lever.
I admit to being a wiring novice and my first attempt would allow the engine to start in Park/neutral, but would die when shifting into gear. I had spliced the switch into one of the red wires leading to the starter (can't remember which one).
Should I just hook the neutral safety switch into the clutch safety switch blue wiring?, rather than splicing the two clutch switch wires together as described in the manual?
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks, Ralph

You should be using the blue wires going to the starter solenoid. The clutch ones should work if your switch is closed in Park or neutral.
