    Exhaust Heat

Using the FFR insulation and sound deadening mats.
Has anyone used any additional heat matting under the seats/over the mufflers on the exterior side of the aluminum flooring?
    Thanks

Hi Ray, on both Barrett Jackson trucks I wrapped the mufflers with header wrap. It seemed to help. Although those are the only two trucks I have built complete so I can’t really say for sure.

But I’m sure it didn’t hurt!

I did add some additional material. I did the aluminized rubber. Then I added 1/4" dymamat closed cell foam. Then Carpet. I did not wrap the mufflers.

After driving 1 hour the floor was not warm at all. Add that extra foam and you're set!

Not a truck, in my Gen 1 hotrod I had insulation under and on top of the floor sheet metal as well as all of the exhaust pipes wrapped.
When idling the floor was so hot you couldn't leave your hand on it.
I pulled the mufflers, wrapped them with exhaust pipe wrap and then covered that with muffler wrap. The floor just gets slightly warm now if I'm not driving it.
