    Tilton Reservoir - Firewall Location

For those of you who have installed the Tilton reservoir to the firewall (or any other reservoir for that matter), since I do not have the engine in yet and I want to get the brakes done what's your advice on location?

Pics with measurements would be great!

    Hey Captain,

    • I installed mine in front of the driver's foot box.
    • I made sure that it stood off the frame enough to not interfere with the body.
    • The reservoir barely sits below the hood too and can be seen in the assembly video shown below:

Hope This Helps & Good Luck!

Heres a picture where I have mine, should be easy enough to locate in a similar location. Note that if you install it too high it will be really tough to fill with the body on since the hood opening is pretty far forward of the firewall. I think this is a pretty tight location so I wouldnt play with the height too much, locating it much lower would then cause issues with the reservoir level being below the master cylinders

any reason you can't mount to frame in front of the DS footbox? brake booster?
the firewall location has challenges w/ the body on as well as interferes if you want to do a mechanical throttle linkage.

So it looks like it is basically at the same height as the master cylinders?

    Thanks

No other than I perfer the looks on the firewall however, I've not made a decision yet. The only additional step on the frame would be having to fabricate a mount bracket but that's not a big deal.

Picture is a little bit deceiving in that aspect, I would base more off how high above the bottom of the firewall when looking at the picture. In actuality the bottom of the reservoir is about level with the master cylinders.
