Mark 3.1 for sale. Non Donor build

    [SOLD]

This car was purchased in 2007 by a single guy with lots of disposable income. He checked off all the go fast goodies and high performance brakes and suspension. He worked on it for 2 years then got married and had 2 kids. Then the car sat due to family obligations. The car was a roller that ran but was far from finished. I bought it in 2014 and brought it home and took it all apart. I used a lot of his work but reworked a lot of what I thought was better and what I wanted. I finished it in 2016 and have only put about 2000 miles on it. This car is very fast and handles like its on rails. You can see all the parts down below and what was put into the car. I will be honest and up front on everything about this car as I want you to know everything about this car. This car is fast and it can get you into trouble very quickly. I have many more pictures and a couple of short walk around videos if need be. The car is located in Voorhees NJ. Just outside out Philadelphia Pa. $44,000.
    Thanks for looking

I need to get a little more serious on selling this car. I just bought a new house and this will not go with me. I did not put many miles on it last year and it just needs someone who can enjoy the car more than me right now.

Looking at your past post you took Gordon Levy’s camshaft out in Feb 2017. Why did you change it and what cam did you out back in?

I took out his cam but also put his recommended cam back in. After talking to him and letting him know I was going from a carb to fuel injection he recommended a better cam for use with the fuel injection. A little less overlap to keep the o2 sensors happy and not make it run as rich. I asked if there would be any power loss. He said no it just will make it more driveable when using fuel injection. I do have the specs somewhere. If you are interested I should be able to dig them out.

    Makes since, thanks.
I was looking at building a MK4 Roadster with a Gordon Levy’s 408 engine but then I see yours for sale and thought… but with my wife in late stage Alzheimer it can be a challenge just riding in a car and even with mild acceleration in her Elantra (bought that in 2013 for her work) she freaks out sometimes so it will have to wait for now.
    One day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea with 540 HP in a very lightweight car the acceleration is downright terrifying to the unknown. This car is not HP limited it is traction limited. It will easily break the tires loose in 3rd gear with no sweat and acceleration is down right thrilling for those who expect it. These cars are not for the faint of heart.

There is no such thing as to much horsepower as long as you RESPECT IT!

I think it was Carrol Shelby who said that. Never enough HP just not enough traction. Yes these cars demand respect for sure.

I also heard - if you can lay rubber coming out of a turn all the way to the next turn braking point you have just enough power.
