    Hi Jim
Been following along since I am at a similar stage as you are. I have done all the build primer and blocking and am having a local painter handle the seal, base, and clear.
Watching your painter friend, I was surprised not to see you folks using gloves, respirator, and at some points eye protection. These paints are some nasty things.

I like the Blue, should look really cool. I’m also hoping to get mine ‘completed’ over the winter.
    Keep up the good work!

    Hi Jim,

What aftermarket inserts are you using to correct the curvature of the trunk?

    Thanks,

Can you tell me more about the bushings you used for you door hinges? Why the change and Where do you get them?

I don't know if Jim used the same parts, but I got Delrin door bushings from Tim Whittaker (http://www.kootenaivalleycustoms.com...i=316641034576). I saw somewhere that Tim was retiring, so you might want to call him before ordering.

SRJ rarely responds to stuff so I'll chime in - it's likely Kootenai Valley customs, Tim Whittaker. He has many parts to help make a build more robust and functional including trunk supports and other items. Some are more appropriate for gen 1, others more universal. https://kootenaivalleycustoms.com/ Web site has been a bit non functional as of late but has contact info

Yeah, I talked to Tim back on Dec 19th and he told me then that he was pretty much done. He said he would see if he could put together a trunk kit for me and then I never heard from him again. I haven't tried calling him again either.

Just got off the phone with him. Great guy to talk to. Unfortunately, He's done. Going to see if he can get me that trunk kit and door bushings, and maybe one or 2 little things he might still have in a box somewhere. He did say it definitely wouldn't be anytime soon though.

If Tim really is done, he may share the bushing dimensions with the Forum community. IIRC, Delrin rods are available from McMaster-Carr and a machine shop could turn the ID and OD and cut them to the proper length.

And I agree that Tim is a great guy to talk to. He's very knowledgeable about FFR cars and freely dispenses build tips and techniques - especially if you are going to try something experimental. He once gave me a comprehensive hour long dissertation on how to build fiberglass parts, including detailed recommendations on materials, tools and techniques. Another time I got a similar tutorial on how to mount and align the body on the chassis.

Actually, I respond to everything that I see. I never got notification on this, but got the same question on the other forum and responded. And I also respond to actionable comments on the youtube channel where most of the questions come from.

Comparing the bushings to my Camaro, they look identical. I'll break out the mic and see what I come up with but they look like a standard GM door bushing
