Let me pay you guys a complement.

Let me pay you guys a complement. For any of you building a car on jackstands with the hand rivet tool, you guys are way tougher than I am. I can’t imagine how many times a day I run the car up and down the lift. And having just finished about half of the aluminum riveting, I can’t imagine doing that without a pneumatic tool. Those of you doing it on the floor by hand are definitely my hero. I would never finish.

I grew up old school. I built my first car, a 1957 Chevy Bel Air 2 door hard top, in my dad's garage. Doing it the same way was kind of part of the experience for me.

My 1st car was a '56 Chevy, 6 cyl, 3 on the tree. Before I got my license it was under the oak tree in the back yard to yank the engine. Got a '62 283ci from the junkyard to drop in along with a hurst shifter.
The 2nd car was another '56 (in better condition with no drivetrain). Back under the oak tree to swap the drivetrain from the first '56 to the second one. I later got 4.11's from the junkyard for it.

I keep telling my wife that it was a lot easier back in the day with my street rod, later a 57 Nomad and then a 68 AMX. I am now completing my 65 Coupe at the tender age of 74. Lots of grunts out in the garage.
