Flaming river rack and pinion manual steering disassembly

    Hi all,

I'm taking apart my FFR MK II for a overhaul and I'm a bit stuck with the steering rack.

I've already taken apart the inner and outer tie rods and the pressure port.

But I can't figure out how to remove the pinion and the rack (I assume that's the order).

I've search quite a lot and can't find anything. Is possible to completely disassemble the steering rack? What's the procedure?

    Thanks.
    Ernesto.

Hi Ernesto,im not sure anybody takes steering racks apart , they normally just replace them.

True. It's not a user serviceable part. You need the right press and the right tools to do it. And then you'll have trouble finding new seals and parts to put it back together. If there's a problem with it, just replace it.
