None of the electrical connectors on the box are water tight.
I mounted my box inside, the wires just reached.
I mounted the ps motor off the firewall.

I located the ps motor in the standard location and spliced wires to put the control unit behind the firewall near the pedal box. Like you, I didn’t want the unit exposed to the elements. Not only are the connectors not sealed, neither is the box. I will add a pic later today when I get home from Europe

Thanks Guys, This is my original idea. Making an "Electrical Panel" to go between the AC and Brake Box. Relays, Fuse Box, Ground Strip, and put the Steering Box here. ???
Looks better.
Thanks

If I mounted it in the standard location the PS motor would be a little lower than the oil pan, which is lower than the frame.
I didn't want to take a chance of speed bumps and the PS motor kissing each other.
Larry, as long as you have enough space for everything that should be fine.

I put mine up to left of column inside. Extended the wires to reach.

I did everything except spray it. She ain't perfect, but she's mine.
Here's the routing for my wires and where I mounted it. Similar to you Larry, I located a number of extra wiring items in between the pedal box and the AC unit - Sniper CD ignition, keyless ignition system and an extra 6 circuit fuse panel....
