    E Brake cable question

    Hi All,

I hope the FF community is faring well during these troubled times.

I ordered the Wilwood brake upgrade with my kit back in 2013, there is a box labeled "Wilwood solid axle brake line parts," and that box lists and has the "Emergency Brake Cables."

They appear to be the correct length, but I don't see listed or find a spring clip or C clip for securing the metal end of the cable to the mounting hole on the caliper? Any ideas or advice is appreciated.

I haven't personally worked w/ the Wilwoods but I think you will find that once the cables are adjusted properly and operating, that outer sleeve can't really go anywhere. I am sure others will chime in soon.

I agree with you, I couldn't find the clips either. Interested in what people will say

The cables don't come with any clips and many will tell you that they aren't needed. Needed or not, I added e-clips to mine. I don't recall the specific size I used, but I like having these sorts of parts in various sizes in my tool box, so I bought this assortment:

Thanks all for chiming in. I reached out to Factory Five also, and Dan came back quickly here was his response:

Hi John, only friction holds the ebrake cables in place, and it is common to need to open up the hole in the caliper slightly for the cable end to fit well.

    Thank you

Check out post #5 by Richard Oben at https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/show...-E-brake-cable to understand why they aren’t necessary on our cars.
