New MK4 build in Marietta, Georgia

    Hello fellow builders,
I'm an electrical engineer (thus the username) and work as a security architect in the cloud industry. Don't have as much experience working on cars as many of you have, but the manual is pretty good and makes it easy to put the car together.

Received my new MK4 on 7/30/19 and was both extremely nervous and excited to get started.
Went with a few options such as wipers, heater/defroster, leather seats, dual chrome roll bars, power steering and other small items.
Wanted to be involved in building every aspect of my car so I decided to build my own 351W stroker to 427 engine.

Took a vacation and got a lot of work done and took a bunch of pictures.
Still missing a lot of parts such as rear calipers, brake parts, radiator, etc which is holding me up a little, but overall, I'm doing well and made a lot of progress.
    Will post pictures later.

The next step in the build manual is to get the engine installed. I have all the engine parts except for the block.
I ordered the block quite a while ago, but still waiting for it to be shipped from Summit Racing. I'm in a holding pattern right now.
Received my Cobra R Heavy Duty Tremec transmission from Summit Racing and it looks cool. Anxious to get it hooked up to the engine.

Unfortunately, had a minor setback in my build. The new Moser rear end started leaking on the drivers side as soon as it was installed and added the gear oil. FFR sent me a new seal which I'll replace this week.

I've read a ton of posts and love the knowledge and creativity of this group.

Looking for wheels/tires and shopped around, but can't beat the prices of FFR. Couldn't find out who manufactures their wheels and wanted to know if anyone has an opinion about their quality.
Hope to hear from some of you and get to know you in the future.
