    clutch petal stop

I am installing a clutch petal stop on my GTM.
I know to adjust it to jack up the rear with it in gear and the emergency brake off and push the clutch in till the wheel start to turn. My question is how much further should I adjust the stop in? I know if it you can not push the clutch in far enough the gears will grind when shifting but I do not want to do damage to the pressure plate or transmission by having the petal adjusted too far.

    thanks

Really a lot of factors in this, but I would say a 1/4 to half turn should be safe. Just remember that once things heat up the clutch may not disengage fully if you haven't given enough extra travel. Obviously you would then give the stop a little extra room, but the fact that it wont fully disengage the transmission if it is not right should be kept in mind for the first few drives.
