Hey, not sure if I can post this in the General Discussion (to get more eyes) or not. I’m considering a 289 USRRC kit, and with that I’d want to build (as close as is possible with a F5 kit) a CSX2431 replica (The Ken Miles Coupe).

I’ve got a couple of questions that are kit and region specific. First, does anybody know if I can register (for the road) a car with the “Competition Model” windscreen. Second, will the forward leg style 289 FIA cage pass NASA tech for Time Trial and HPDE events.

Also, I’ve got a general question about registering a kit car in California. First, I’m assuming that since the new laws have passed requiring companies to collect sales tax for the state they’re selling to, that I’m going to have to pay California sales tax on my F5 kit, right? Does that mean that I’m going to get taxed a second time when I go to register the car? Or is there a way around that.

Thanks so much!

Casey
