Shifter Handle
My shifter sheared off today while driving. Fortunately, was able to coast into a garage and borrowed a piece of pipe to at least get me home. This was a non-functional reverse lockout part and the shifter is now trashed. My question is, anybody have a good source for the traditional angled shifter? I could order from ********** and normally would as I have patience, but there are only a few more weeks left in the driving season, and um... well, ********** response time...enough said. Any other sources? I like the angled look and I believe FFR only provides the straight one.

Why not take it to a shop and get it welded. The weld should end up below the bellows and should hold fine until you get a new one.

X2. It should be far enough under the boot. I'd get it re-welded and move on.

That looks like the shifter that Finish Line sells and I recall one other builder had his snap as well. I think Finish Line may have sent him a new one if I remember correctly. Seems they got a batch where the welds didn't penetrate very well.
Edit: After looking at it a bit closer, the it's different than the Finish Line one. Theirs's has a square bar stock end where the bolts go through instead of the flat stock. I agree, get it welded back together and call it good.

No problem welding it. If it was mine, I'd weld it and use it as long as I needed it.

Thanks all, I'll try to track down a welder later this week to get me through the season (one more reason for me to take up welding!). I'll probably order another one from ********** or FFR as well without worrying about a rush (it seems FFR is on backorder right now as well).
MURD - Thanks, I missed that the FFR one is in fact angled too. I have a base kit so my original came from **********.

Base kits come with them I believe. I also bought a base kit and I don’t think mine was part of an option/package.

Will do. At this point, due to all the generosity on these forums, my “pay it forward” tab is essentially an entire cobra!
