    Edelbrock Carb

I have an Edelbrock Thunder series AVS2 Carb,650 CFM with electric choke, P/N 1906.
I replaced this carb as it was sitting for 22 months while my Coupe was at Whitby's (not run) for body work and paint. When I got the car back it ran terrible and I concluded the carb was the issue.
Needs a rebuild. Make me an offer. The new one goes for $370.00. Email me at [email protected]. I am located in Jupiter, Florida. Thanks, Joe

    Joe,

What about simply rebuilding it and keeping as a spare?
If you don't feel like fooling with it, I'm sure Henry (65CobraDude) could easily handle the task of rebuilding it for you.
Also, for the record I'm likely the only other guy on the forum who likes the Edelbrock AVS Carbs and have an 800 on my MK-4.

    1. Consider setting up as a dual feed because it really helps even out the pressure to the two needle and seats.
    2. You can put a baffle (you create it) in between the bowls to slow the slosh from side to side if you do the dual feed.
    3. It really helps improve the drive-ability when you are doing stupid things with the car.

22 months is enough to turn the gas into vinegar or mouthwash...no wonder it ran terrible!
