    Coyote to DS Footbox clearance

    Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone with a Coyote engine in a Mk4 has any clearance issues between the engine and the DS footbox? I have very little clearance and I'm wondering if I'm going to have any issues when the engine is running. The engine installed nicely and sits on the mounts perfectly.

    Thanks,
    Tim

That's about how they fit. Assume you have the FF provided 1/2 inch spacers inside the Energy Suspension motor mounts? If so, that's the current setup and yes it runs that close. Mine is the same way and hasn't been an issue for three seasons and 6,500 miles.

I have 3 Coyote Mk4 roadsters in the shop currently and they are all exactly like that.

    Carry on!

If you find that your DS header touches the footbox (mine did), one of the many 'Kleiner mods' is to put two hardened washers between the DS motor mount and the chassis. Then hoist the engine from the PS and it will slide down on the DS and give you about another 0.040" clearance.

Thanks, I'll watch out for it.
