    Wrap versus paint?

I am thinking of a fenderless 33 hotrod build. Would wrap be more robust against rocks picked-up and thrown by the tires? Anybody ever done this?

    Thanks! Alan

I have an 818 that I wrapped. My early impression is that wrap is less resistant to damage from rocks or other damage then paint would be. The other potential issue is that you cant repair wrap, it would require redoing an entire panel. Paint at least has an option to fix damage. That being said I am pretty happy with how the wrap looks and am not expecting it to last forever. It's more of a stop gap between the red gel coat and being ready to spend the money on a paint job.

Here is a link to pictures of when it was first done. I'm away from home right now but will get a picture of where there has been debris impact this weekend. It doesn't chip, but more scuffs up the surface of the wrap.

It was a bit tough to get a good picture without having a sunny day. This is with the flash on, which makes it look a bit worse then it does in person.20191115_222732.jpg

I've been watching this YouTube channel to get an idea on the required bodywork on FFR bodies. This one in particular is a type 65, but I think the skills should apply to other models

What does it cost to wrap a 33? any idea? Also, is there a site to view colors?
