Part Numbers for Commonly Upgraded Parts

I wanted to do something to try to help other newbies getting into this madness. I have made a spreadsheet of common items to upgrade over the standard F5 supplied parts. This is just a list of part numbers for items that people can get anywhere. I don't want this to be advertising to a specific vendor. Special thanks to Paul. Many of these part numbers come from his posts throughout the years.

Please check my part numbers. Also, make any recommendations for additional items and I can add them to my spreadsheet. Perhaps the moderators will make this a sticky?

    Terry

The spreadsheet formatting does not transfer to here well. I will work on making it look prettier in a table format later.

Nice. I would make a note re; the K772s, boots and upgrades, that they are front upper BJs. Also add that QA1 makes a similar BJ #1210-105 from here
    https://www.qa1.net/suspension/ball-...le-ball-joints
    Also
    - expanding foam tape from McMaster is # 7650A14
    - power steering racks from Autozone
#6406; 3.0 turns lock to lock
#6439; 2.5 turns lock to lock
#64163 2.25 turns lock to lock
FFR MkII, 408W, Tremec TKO 500, 2015 IRS, DA QA1s, Forte front bar, APE hardtop.

Not a specific part number, but if you hate the plastic horn button, one like this is a good alternative:

Craig, are any additional parts needed if upgrading from manual steering rack (besides power steering pump and hoses)?

You'll need the steering shaft to rack adapter.

Autozone no longer stocks the remanufactured #6406 Fox rack. O'Reilly does; #101-0106, 101-0107 or 101-0108 with the difference being the mount bushings which is a moot point since for our use they get replaced anyway.

Well that sucks. Jeff, glad you found the O'Reilly source because the AZ racks start at around $350 and go up from there. Jeff, are the three O'Reilly racks the same 3.0 turns or do they vary like AZ used to?

    Craig,
The online specs show that they are all the same 3.0 turn ratio but with different mounting bushings and one being the Ford produced rack and the other TRW (both were OEM and they interchange). They also have a remanufactured quick ratio 2.5 turn rack. #101-0111.

NAPA also offers remanufactured racks in both ratios but their core charge is outlandish so if you don't have an exchange you'd wind up paying about 80% of just buying new.

My FFR gas cap (Stant I think) never worked in the LeMans housing. I used the Ford OEM equivalent, and it works just like it should now. Motorcraft FC-961, Ford XU5Z-9030-JA
