Question did you use Stewart Transport? costs?

Just got my quote for in the Sacramento area (Folsom) and Stewart is quoting $2,100

seems high compared to others that I've talked to - is this about right? or am I getting highballed?

    Thx

Nope, that's accurate as to what I got for Colorado ($1900) and you're a couple more states away. Plus you have to factor in the Anniversary Kit (extra's) for that stuff too - I'd take it! And now WE wait...

Wareham to Sacramento is 3000 miles. Last year I had a Coupe delivered to Indiana—-just under 1,000 miles—-for $1,500. 14 years ago I had one delivered and it was $1,100. Ten years ago another one was $1,200. I recently had a complete, running Mk4 delivered from Colorado for paint; $1,300. You can do the math.

Stewart from FFR to Colorado about 2-1/2 years ago for a complete kit with several options was $1,600. $500 for another ~1,000 miles seems reasonable to me. I shipped my car to Indianna (see Jeff's post above) for $1,300, and back to Colorado was $1,400. That is for 1,100 miles each way.

The quote makes sense to me as well. 1 year ago it was a "titch" higher than that for a Washington State-Canadian border delivery. They do an excellent job and have the equipment to handle the full kit. Frankly the only way I'd trust another carrier with the kit is with it fully crated which is another $800 (if I remember correct) from FFR.

To clarify as well, I saw a post a few months back where someone had their Mk4 delivered to Georgia for $1500. So, you figure approx. $100 more per state, for which I felt my quote was fair. To be honest, I really did want to go pick mine up in person, meet Dave and the FFR Employees and take a tour too. However, driving from CO to MA and back again, in January? Ummmm.... No thanks!

I had a mk4 kit shipped last year to MI for 1200.00. When I called to have one shipped a month ago (one year later) 25 th kit (it was know bigger the the first kit) they said their prices went up a bit and wanted to to charge 1300.00 I was like "Really" then after a long wait om my part he said I guess we will give it to you for the same price as last time. And the more space your kit takes up the more it costs. Their was a 33 truck behind mine on the truck going just 50 miles from me and the driver said he was paying a third more than I was because they can only double stack the 33's unlike the mk4 that can be triple stacked. I think Stewart is kind of a pain to work with because the first time I could not get a strait answer out of them about anything (kit was three weeks late). I told them I was not happy with the run around I got the first time and told the dispatcher not to BS me this time because my BS filter was still full from the last time. It was much better this time kit was on time and no BS. I was very Happy with over all experience, I think even with a bit of a delay they still are the best at moving FFRs.

$1,700.00 to Slidell which is just North of New Orleans in February of 2015.
I'm really surprised it is so low since you are literally is across the country.

We got ours delivered on 7/31/18 to Bakersfield for $1700 plus a c note for the Stewart driver. Fuel costs have gone up considerably in the last year too. There were a couple of kits before mine, one in AZ and one in SoCal. Maybe going up to Sac depending on delivery logistics might add to the price. Stewart knows what they’re doing and they do a lot. And do it well.

2 Cents more..... 33' Deliver to Inland Empire So Cal right at $2000 a year ago. Fuel always up and Fed Regulations on drivers has made life miserable in Truck Industry so,,,, Less Drivers available. Driver Scott was Best, gave him $60 for dinner and have always felt bad I did not give him more. A full Coast away,,,, we are stuck out here in the West. Stewart was good too/for me.
