    Performance Alignment

    In my old Saleen days had the specs for a front end performance alignment done with my more than adequate weight in the seat
    Anyone have roadster alignment specs they found to be good and will share for our machines?

    Street car with manual steering;
    .5 to .75 degree negative camber
    3 degrees positive caster
    1/16" to 3/32" total toe in

    With power steering go to 7 to 8 degrees positive caster

    Jeff,

    How bad would things get if the caster was pushed to 4 degrees?
    My rack is about 3.5 turns "Lock to Lock" so I was wondering if this limit could be pushed a little.

    Nothing bad will happen, maybe just a bit stiffer turning it a low speed. Keep it above 85, it'll turn smooth.

    As Rich said nothing bad will happen but more positive caster=higher steering effort. You have a very slow ratio rack and with a slower ratio comes lower steering effort so you can probably go up a bit without the effort becoming uncomfortably high. Feeling strong?

    FWIW, My MKII is set at +3.5° with 275x40x17's up front with a 4 turn lock-to-lock Flaming River rack, 22# air pressure up front - and in 18 years, I have gotten very used to the effort to park and it's not an issue for me.
