    need help with my brakes

    Hi Guys,

Need some help with my brakes

I run the willwood pedal box with balance bar, and the front and rear wilwood brake kits, as supplied by FFR (have the old styl T-bird IRS)

I have a real hard time getting a feel for the pedal, and the steering, I do not notice if the car locks up, only when I see the smoke, and its to late.

Im on the koni suspension, 255 Hoosiers, manual steering

Which end is locking up? What size are your master cylinders?

Have you had the car on scales to set the corner weights? If one corner is very light it will lock up easy as well as make the steering feel off as you are describing. If you can't get to a set of scales try measuring the heights of the spring seats to be sure they are even side to side on both the front and the rear.

Thanks for the quick reply guys!

Front end is locking up, I can prevent it from locking up by adjusting the balance bar more to the rear, but it will start eating brake pads in the rear like crazy

    Both master cylinders are 075

I did have the car on the scales but not recently, I will definitly try that again, however I do not think it will help with the feeling. In other cars when you lock up you feel the steering freeze, or the car starts pulling or loud tire noise, I have none of that, so its hard to dose the brakes and try to stop the tire from locking
