    Fresh air vents

So I installed fresh air vents routed hose and realized there are no intakes on the nose of a 289 yeah dumb I know. I’m thinking I can use the radiator side panels on the nose with 90 degree alum. 3” tubing riveted in. Does anyone have a picture of those panels installed? Any other ideas

Yes I have those, came with the 289 kit I'm going to use them as intended as brake cooling. Looking at other options for fresh air

Are you using an oil cooler? If not, you can put ducts there....

The 289's didn't have an oil cooler opening.

    Dare to be different?
Why not use a pair of Daytona coupe air scoops, on the rear of the fenders or cowl, to direct air down into the footboxes?

True, street cars didn't, but the FIA and USRRC did, which is what FFR based their kits on. Like mine...

Can you snap a picture of the alum. Panels on either side in front of the radiator? I think I might have enough room there. Thanks for everyone’s input.

I can grab some tomorrow. My concern with that approach is the inlet is tangential to the air flow and you probably won't get enough flow. Especially with all the 90 degree turns. I got lazy and tried to use the leftover area between the oil cooler and the opening. At full open on the damper I get a slight trickle of air, too much pressure drop. Once I get more time, I'll work out an attachment under the front of the car.

JWD. I did buy the vent kit from period correct and initially was going with the intake kit that would mount on the aluminum on the sides in front of radiator and body. That could be a solution. I ended up moving to the brake cooler holes that you don't have...

The 289 cars used a flange on the side of the nose to accept the hose for the footbox vent. Shelby apparently had complaints for in-effectiveness/performance since they issued a tech bulletin with a fix to improve the flow.

We can supply the flange kits https://prdcrrct.com/product/front-vent-flange-kit/. Then you can determine whether you need the deflectors or not.
