    Bodyseam grinding on hotrod

I can't find any posts as to whether people are grinding the body seam and filling with 3 m hard. I see them doing it on the Cobra but not hotrod. Do I just grind flush then fill with rage?

I've just starting dealing with the mold flash. So far there aren't any big voids or gaps nor thin spots so I'm using Rage Gold. If I come across any areas that are "flimsy" then I'll use HSRF. For example, I've seen some pics of the hard top with big openings in the corner - that's HSRF territory (or possibly even some fiberglass). There's a recent post in my build thread with a couple of pics.

I've read that it takes two weeks for the 3m hsrf to dry. Sucks because here in Iowa, it'd be mighty expensive and a pain to keep my shop 60 degrees for two weeks straight!

Never heard that before. I've used a bunch of it. Mixed per the instructions it kicks in 15-20 minutes. And is rock hard in an hour or so. Trust me. Try to sand it and you'll find out. To be honest I use it at the recommended temps, so not sure what the result would be if used in cold temps. But if mixed and applied at the recommended temps, should be fine. I have heard that it's good to let it cure out for some time before final body fill and paint. Just to make sure there's no additional shrinkage. But don't think any special temps are needed. Just a reasonable time.

Some folks on the other forum mentioned it setting up for two weeks before applying rage gold

    Here's a discussion

Right. Consistent with what I said. Just to make sure there isn't any additional shrinkage. But it's not "drying" for two weeks or whatever (actually curing, since it's a 2-part catalyzed material) and no need to keep your workspace heated that long IMO.
