    Wiper arm insert replacement?

First time poster here. I just bought a mk3 from someone up in Wisconsin. I’m in Houston. I absolutely love the car and can’t wait to get through inspection/registration so I can enjoy it but have a small issue. On one of the windshield wiper arms the metal insert that slips over the post coming up from in front of the windscreen is broken. Is there a way to just get a replacement insert or is it possible to just get one wiper arm or do I need to order the full $500 assembly listed on the parts section of the ffr site? Wipers have to work to pass TX vehicle inspection. Otherwise I wouldn’t care in the slightest that the wipers on my roofless car don’t work. :-)

It’s the metal insert that fits in here that broke.

    Any help greatly appreciated,

    Scott

I don't know where you will find that insert, but Finish Line sells replacement arms.

When searching on an auto parts site what car do you search for? Sorry about the noob question. This isn’t my first performance car by any means but it is my first car not mass produced.

X2 on the recommendation for **********. The arms are exactly the right size, have the proper connection for the wipers blades you already have, and actually are an upgrade over the arms you have. Instead of that little tab holding them in place, which is a pain and will break as you found out, uses a screw with a wedge that holds it on. Highly recommended. https://www.**********accessories.co...wiper-arm.aspx. You can buy one or both. Do it right and replace both. You won't be sorry. These are reproductions of English sports cars from the 60's. I doubt very much you'll find anything similar through the usual part store sources.

For any of the British parts, I use Moss Motors.

They also have the same upgraded arms that ********** has.

I got my replacement one from **********.
It's pretty good because it has a screw to tighten/squeeze the arm to the nut, so if your nut is worn out, that's really helping.
