    Factory Five and shipping

Techs I realize this isn't a technical issue but I'd like to throw out a shipping related issue to FFR.

Thus far I've received 2 shipments from FFR. Both shipping charges were paid to FFR at time of purchase INCLUDING brokerage.

    Shipment 1:

PUROLATOR...4 boxes containing LCA, konis, springs, fuel lines, and misc nuts bolts.
large boxes and a 5 foot long tube.
Cost at time of delivery at my door-->Zilch, Zero, Nada, $0

    Shipment 2:

    UPS...4 boxes hali replica rims
Cost at time of delivery at my door-->$147 brokerage/shipping fees!

Please do not ship any further items to me via UPS. I had already paid over $200 for shipping and brokerage to FFR. Total shipping cost on 4 rims was over $400!

    Thanks,
    Vic

    Vic,

The initial freight for my wheels was to be over $475 from Texas to Ottawa. Instead I contacted FFR and had them drop shipped to the Ship-it Shop in Massena. Total freight was $120. As a bonus I didn't have to pay HST on the freight because it was not a service that took place in Canada. Other examples of the savings include. Complete rear disc conversion including new 5-lug axles shipped from Missouri to Massena $50. All of my front brakes including calipers, rotors, hubs, lines, upper ball joints and a jeep master cylinder shipped from Rock Auto in Wisconson to Massena $40. It is worth the drive down on a Saturday Morning. All I pay is a $5.00 per package handling fee and the HST on the purchase price at the border.

    Paul
oops it wasn't a tech question and I am not an FFR tech, does my computer explode now?

We use FedEx to ship all parts leaving from directly from FFR. The wheels were drop shipped by UPS from the wheel manufacturer so their an exception. I from what I hear FedEx cost less than UPS when shipping to Canada thats one of the reasons we use them.

    I'm not talking about FedEx
I was told when i bought my kit that suspension parts, fuel, brake parts where deleted from my kit with out credit since they where not allowed in Canada. I had to re-buy all these parts....
So from what i understand, F5 includeds these mentionned parts in the kit now?

You can order your konis etc from ffr. You just can't bring them in with the shipment the roadster is on.

I ordered the basic kit. These parts were not part of it.
