    looking for some info

    Hello All,.

My build will start in 3 years( my retirement gift to myself), in the meantime I am looking for info and gathering up what parts I will need.
I plan on putting an LS6 in with a T-56 6 speed, and gas, brake, and clutch pedals I had in my 2000 vette.
The output shaft on the T-56 is long considering it was part of the transaxle in the vette. Will this work?
I am using this set up because I have available parts now, plus keep it on somewhat of a budget.
I am going to use the Holley terminator X for ECU, since throttle body will be drive by wire.
    Thanks for any info,
    Bill R.

PS, flame suit on for putting a Chevy motor into what is somewhat of a Ford!! HAHA

I won't rib you (too bad) for wanting to do an LS in your MK4. I'll just warn you that you'll be in for a lot of fabrication to get everything to work as the MK4 is really set up for Ford power plants. I can't say if your specific setup will be doable, but there are several threads about using an LS in a MK4 that you may find helpful:

    Thanks Al and Dave,

the main reason to wait is, keep me busy for awhile as I enter retirement!!
I am thinking a year from retiring to put in my order!!

I would try to offload the T56 and pick up a used TR6060. Starting in 2016 all V8 camaros got the close ratio TR-6060 and wrecking yards I dont think have figured it out yet. You can get a low mileage one for under $2k which is probably not much more than you can sell the T56 for if its in good condition. If you arent planning on tracking it much you can cast a wider tr-6060 net and live with the wider ratio version if thats what comes up cheaper. At least then you dont have to find a tailhousing and hope it all fits.

Yes sir, I thought about that too. Since I have a T56, all I would need is a tail housing.
this MK4 will not be tracked, I have my C5 FRC for that
    Thanks!

Very unlikely the pedal box will fit.

    Welcome Fellow Dark Sider!

The good news is Factory Five now supports the LS platform.

LS is pretty easy to do with standard T-56 if you go with the F5- IRS, but I have no clue of you can pull it off the Vette Version that uses the attached transaxle.
I've never seen that set up except while under my brother's old C-5 rag top when I was changing his oil.
As I remember, it was pretty big and rather long, but you never know until you try.
Just know that the transmission tunnel is quite small in these cars and so is the cockpit.
You can see just how small the tunnel is between 40-60 seconds into the attached video:

    Again, Welcome Fellow Dark Sider!

Thanks Michael, what pedal box would you suggest?

Thanks GoDadGo, I was planning on doing the IRS. Yes sir I have the differential removed from the T56, all I need is to find the tail housing.
Also which drive shaft will fit the trans or do I need to have one made? I know I need to change the connector on the Mustang IRS
