    Door latch

    76C0FE14-56AC-42D6-8AD9-E15BA1500DDF.jpeg

I installed the latch cable and door handle like the manual shows. The cable attaches to the latch in a horizontal position. It does not work. I have to lift up on the latch to get it to open the door.

    What have I done wrong?

I tried to post a photo, I hope it works

You need to rotate the cable bracket 180 degrees. As it is, you are pushing the cable when the handle moves down, and pulling the cable when the handle moves up. Cable must be pulled to release latch. Rotating the cable bracket will reverse that.

The picture in the manual may still be from the hot rod which is suicide doors so would be reversed of what the truck needs.

Sorry, I just re looked through the manual. Your door handle is fine. You have the clevis connected to the wrong hole. The manual shows the clevis in the lower hole which would make it the pull to unlatch.

The upper hole makes it a push to unlatch, which is why you have to pull up on handle to make it work.

Leaving it there will make you inside handle not work as well
