I was talking to my team about that today. We all mocked the iPad the day it came out but now we're moving forward to a world without laptops.

The geek part of me has this really empty feeling right now.

I for one am amazed at the lessons this amazing guy taught us all. Despite his immense wealth, I doubt he spent a single day chasing a buck. I also think that his story could ONLY have happened in America. The belief in the individual over the collective society, that one human can change the world. Did he ever change the world! Edison, Einstein, and others now have to make room on the wall for a guy they will teach about for 500 years.

In the end though, we all have a time and when someone taps us on the shoulder and tells us gently and lovingly that time is up and we have to go... I hope when that time comes for each of us, we can look over our shoulders on the way out and smile knowing we left the place better than when we came in. I'm typing on a Mac and I say "heck of a job well done Steve!"

I am a true believer that everyone has a specific reason for being here. Unfortunately, so many of us are left unsure of what that is, so we just do our best at being who we are. And then there are some who just seem to know exactly "why" they were put here. Some people explain extreme successes by "being in the right place at the right time". Other people say that "they didn't really know what they were doing when they started, but that they just wanted to try"... I believe that these people knew in their heart which way they were supposed to go, and trusted it.

Obviously Steve Jobs was of that group! In our hobby, I could say that Dave and Mark Smith are as well.
